Our Services
OHS is available to be the first point of contact for faculty and staff who are injured or ill at work. Staffed with compassionate and seasoned nurse practitioners, physicians, and registered nurses, OHS will evaluate injuries, provide first aid and treatment, and help employees get additional medical attention. OHS will assist the employee with the work-related injury process.

Occupational Health Services
- Medical evaluation and clearance for employees who work with research animals, who wear a respirator, or who work in a high-level biosafety laboratory
- First aid
- Evaluation and treatment for work-related illnesses and injuries
- Reproductive toxicology for those working with pathogens or hazardous materials
- Clearance to return to work following work-related illness or injury
- Immunizations: tetanus, hepatitis B, rabies, flu, and Tdap
- Infectious disease screening and treatment

Respiratory Virus Testing
OHS offers onsite point-of-care respiratory virus testing for COVID-19 and influenza for staff and faculty with cold and flu-like symptoms.
Please call 617-627-6500 to schedule an appointment. OHS also offers same-day appointments for individuals who want to be evaluated for cold and flu-like symptoms.

Education, Referrals, and Limited Tests
- Education regarding health concerns such as asthma, migraines, gastric reflux, hypertension, and diabetes

Your primary care physician and other specialists must provide mental health, primary care, and ongoing medical services. Tufts Occupational Health Services is not a substitute for your primary care physician or other specialists. Other wellness services may be provided by your health insurance plans or employee assistance programs, and you should check those plans or programs for availability.
